Rainbeaux Sheen Boom
An effective solution to rainbow sheens on the water. Rainbeaux Boom® Product Line transforms spilled hydrocarbons into a rubber-like solid on contact, and does not re-release when it is retrieved. The solidification process is non-chemical in nature allowing the US EPA to classify Rainbeaux Boom® as a absorbent. This product, which comes in booms, pillows or granular form and can be used to clean oil from bilges, deck spills, around hydraulic storage tanks, under hydraulic machinery, in all engineering spaces and most importantly, in any hydrocarbon fuel spill where leaking oil comes in contact with water and a rainbow sheen is present. This is the only sorbent proven to be effective on rainbow sheens! Rainbeaux Booms are made with Rubberizer® Particulate as a filler and a 100% polypropylene tubular fabric encasement. Ribbon connectors are also provided. These booms are multifunctional. They can be used for containment on water while absorbing a spill, and once fully loaded continue to function as containment barriers remaining significantly above water level. They are soft and conform well to textured surfaces enabling them to act as barriers on runways or vehicle roadways. They can be used for bulk cleanup operations also. Once sorbed liquids are solidified (usually within 20 minutes) they are retrievable without the loss of their contents caused by handling and the consequent dripping associated with many other products. This product is supplied in various lengths, from one inch in diameter up to five inches in diameter. Five inch diameter booms can sorb and solidify up to one gallon per lineal foot. |
