A completely mobile and fully self sufficient first
response station for mass casualty decontamination.
DeconShelters were designed
with the Australian Military for Nuclear, Biological, and
Chemical (NBC) decontamination during the 2000 Olympic Games.
The DeconShelter :: Military consists of
4 16'x 24' inflatable buildings and the hardware decontaminate
personnel within 5 minutes of being on site and be fully
functional in 25 minutes. It is capable of decontaminating
men, women, and injured personnel at the same time.
The Purpose of the DeconShelter
:: Military is to Provide:
- A completely mobile and fully
self sufficient first Response NBC station for mass casualty
decontamination.
- Rapid deployment by means
of air craft, road transport or sea.
- A facility capable of decontaminating
one person per minute.
- Decontamination of personnel
within a 5 minute window once on site. Fully functional
within 25 minutes.
- A facility that is able to
use on site power and fresh water or be made fully self
sufficient at remote locations.
- A facility capable of decontaminating
men, women and injured personnel at the same time.
- A mobile water heater and
Decon solution delivery system, to help prevent thermal
shock when operating in adverse weather conditions.
- A waste water storage facility.
- A water proof lighting System
- The ability to assemble and
operate the station while fully dressed in NBC suites
- A dry and clean change room/
command post area after the decontamination process.
- A facility capable of housing
a triage center and 2 resuscitation teams as part of the
complete package.
- Ambulance access for quick
removal of patients.
- A facility that can be decontaminated
and disassembled, packed as modular units and ready for
redeployment within an acceptable time frame.
