Hi-Sprint Inflatable Containment Boom
One of our rapid deployment booms for protected
and open waters.
System Benefits
- Hi Integrity
- Hi Sprint is manufactured in various section
lengths up to a maximum of 200 metres. Each
section's buoyancy tube has internal bulkheads
every 3 metres to form independent chambers.
These are completely sealed and in the event
of damage to any one chamber, the boom's integrity
and ability to contain oil are retained.
- Rapid and Easy
Deployment
- 500 metres (1640ft) can be deployed in less
than twenty minutes. This speed is due to the
innovative features of single point inflation,
a continuous air feeder sleeve, and a one way
valve to every 3m chamber. Only two operators
are required to deploy Hi Sprint.
- Durability
- All Hi Sprint seams are vulcanized to ensure
good retention of neoprene's excellent mechanical
properties, even after prolonged storage, and
also to give resistance to degradation from
exposure to hydrocarbons and UV light.
- Easy to Clean
- After deployment, Hi Sprint booms are easily
cleaned with normal detergents and hot or cold
pressure washers.
- Flexibility
- The boom's continuous cylindrical shape, coupled
with low air inflation pressure increases flexibility,
and produces a very responsive containment system.
- Wave Following
- The high buoyancy to weight ratio gives good
wave following capability.
- Oil Retention
- The smooth continuous boom profile inhibits
formation of vortices, thereby discouraging
oil loss under boom.
