Fire-proof containment boom has been designed as an effective fire resistant barrier to prevent the spread of oil and chemical fires on water. These unique fire proof oil containment booms represent the leading edge of technology for fighting / containing oil & chemical fires on water. Fire Boom can also be used to contain foam used by firefighters to prevent the ignition of flammable materials floating on the surface. Fire proof boom also prevents the spread of an existing flame, containing it in an area that can be effectively foamed.

Some fire booms employ unique high temperature resistant material components that retain their integrity from more than 2000F (1093C) for short-term use in accidental oil-on-water fires. On one of the re-useable models, the boom cover remains at ambient water temperature because it is water-cooled and inflatable for compact storage and ease of deployment. It is fire resistant over its entire length and is not damaged by fire - making it re-usable, other models of fire proof booms are designed for a single use deployment and then are replaced with new sections.
